The Road to Kokand, Uzbekistan
We took a taxi and drove four hours to Kokand, in the Fergana Valley,
through the Chatkal Mountains.
The Ferghana Valley. I've never seen such thick smog - I thought there was a fire in the distance.

Last Bits from Bukhara
Students lived here, in the 12th century.
At Minzifa, our beloved terrace cafe - the only place in town that served fresh vegetables and had the most amazing sunsets.

Tashkent Magic
We stayed for a few nights at Jahongir B&B, before going off to trail the rest of the route. They had the most amazing breakfast, which we longed for later down the road. And of course I was sublimely happy to receive my second travel partner.
